DLSA Reasi helping needy people during lockdown

REASI, May 13: District Legal Services Authority Reasi, under the chairmanship of Kamlesh Pandit (Pr Distt & Sessions Judge) is carrying out the programme tirelessly, to provide every sort of legal service to the weaker, marginalized and needy people of the society during the lockdown period of Covid-19 in the District.
The PLVs of DLSA Reasi are working compassionately in their areas and making people aware all over the district to maintain distancing, sanitation by washing of hands regularly and also to wear masks coupled with adherence to lockdown guidelines. The PLVs are helping the people for getting ration, Medicines and other essentials, in co-ordination with District Administration.
The District Legal Services Authority has deputed proactive PLVs in consultation with District Administration to different quarantine centres established in the district to counsel the people who have been quarantined there. PLVs are also creating awareness among the people about the measures to be taken for the containment of Coronavirus in the society. They are also persuading the people about the use of Aarogya Setu App.
The District Legal Services Authority is conducting the scheduled meetings of UT Review Committee and Jail inspection as per directions & guidelines of High Powered Committee. District Legal Services Authority Reasi provided Legal Services to the victims of domestic violence during the lockdown period and got issued orders of maintenance allowances for the victims from the concerned court. The cases of victims of domestic violence have also been taken up with District Administration for immediate sustenance relief during the lockdown period.
Besides these measures, the District Legal Services Authority helped 3300 people by providing ration, medicines, essentials and other administrative help.
Also, District Legal Services Authority prepared the list of labourers stranded in the district and facilitated them regarding submitting on-line applications for shifting them to their homes/native villages.
