Govt Polytechnic organizes webinar on ‘Solid Works’

JAMMU, May 13: Government Polytechnic College Jammu organized webinar on “Solid Works”, for the faculty and students of Mechanical, Automobile, Electrical & Civil Engineering of the institute.
Er Rahul Pathak and Er Deepankar Raj Malik form CETPA InfoTech Pvt Ltd, were the experts and they enlightened the audience about the different software available to design in the modern era. They practically aimed and focused on technical skill Domain and software Domain of solid works software by explaining its use in various projects. The faculty and students were enlightened about the use of SOLIDWORKS as a very productive 3D CAD software tool in manufacturing and design.
Er Arun Bangotra, Principal, Govt Polytechnic Jammu, at the start of the webinar, emphasized the importance of such online events as very crucial for all round development of students and making them aware of new software technologies apart from standard course curriculum and called these as a great platform for exchange of ideas, especially when country is under lockdown due to COVID-19.
All the faculty members and students were present online from their homes in the session, which was interactive. Students had enriching experience through the interaction of the speakers while getting updated with latest technologies. The speaker gave a talk starting from the fundamentals of solidworks to new upcoming technologies like use of Ansys software.
Er K S Bhatia, HoD Mechanical Department, also spoke on the benefits of learning solidworks for students as not only this tool will enhance their knowledge but it will also increase their chance of getting job easily over others.
In the end, Er Sanam Gupta, Faculty Mechanical Engg Department, presented vote of thanks and said that these types of online workshops are very much useful to students and faculty in order to upgrade their skills during this lockdown period.
