Theft case worked out within 24 hours

UDHAMPUR, May 14: Within 24 hours, Police worked out theft case and recovered the stolen property besides the arrest of all six accused, who had committed the burglary in house of Gopal Dass, son of Duni Chand of Sail Kouri A/P Khoon, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Majalta.
Giving details, SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey said that during raids in different suspected locations following registration of complaint regarding the theft, some suspects were zeroed in by police. During their sustained interrogation, one of them broke down and confessed the commission of the offence.
On his disclosure, five other associates involved in the case were also arrested by the police. The identity of the main accused was established as Mohd Amir, son of Ghulam Qadir of Puli Tehsil Gandhu, Doda while other five are juveniles.
On the disclosure of the accused persons, stolen property (home appliances) worth Rs 20000/- of the complainant was recovered. In this connection, a case FIR number 39/2020, under section 457/380 IPC has been registered at PS Majalta and further investigation of the case is going on.
A Special Team of PS Majalta, led by DySP Prob Latief Khan (SHO PS Majalta) under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur and Garu Ram, SDPO Ramnagar worked out the case within 24 hours since commissioning of the theft.
