JAMMU, May 14: In a meeting of its senior leaders Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today discussed return of people stranded outside the Union Territory.
The meeting was chaired by former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta.
While addressing the meeting Gupta said that J&K residents stranded in other States have to be brought back after consultations with the respective State Governments. “J&K Government should come up with a cumulative data of such stranded persons and chalk out a comprehensive plan to bring them back safely,” Gupta said adding that the Government should take up the matter with other States to complete 14 days quarantine before sending the stranded persons back to J&K in a phased manner.
“After screening and testing of stranded people, the concerned State Governments should start the process of sending them back to J&K,” he maintained.
He also stressed for preparing a working plan in this regard.
BJP Vice President, Sham Lal Sharma stressed for the conduction of local level awareness programmes in association with Government functionaries to ‘break the chain’ of transmission of Coronavirus and enforce social distancing amongst the citizens.
BJP J&K Secretary, Arvind Gupta; senior BJP leader, Rash Paul Verma; District BJP President, Vinay Gupta and J&K BJP Secretary, Tilak Gupta also attended the meeting.
