JAMMU, May 15: Highly appreciating Government’s move of establishing Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Team Jammu Chairman, Zorawar Singh Jamwal appealed Lieutenant Governor, GC Murmu to ensure immediate functioning of the full-fledged Task Force to crush Narco-Terrorism, which is targeting younger generation at an alarming rate.
While addressing a hurriedly called press conference, here today, Zorawar expressed Team Jammu’s delight on fulfilment of its long pending demand of establishing Anti-Narcotics Task Force in J&K as ordered by the Government yesterday.
“We hope that this Task Force will prove ultimately end the menace of drug abuse in J&K and for this, Government must ensure that the Task Force is fully strengthened to deal with the issue,” he said.
Zorawar Singh urged the Lt Governor to ensure that Police officers of integrity, clean record and professional approach should be taken in the Task Force.
He also suggested that some female cops should be part of the Task Force as the drug menace is spreading among fair sex also.
The Team Jammu chief also stressed for ensuring that the Task Force should work in close coordination with the civil society as ending the menace would not be possible without public cooperation.
