SRINAGAR, May 15: Former Union Minister, Prof Saifuddin Soz has appealed to the External Affairs Minister, Govt of India, Dr Jai Shanker to evacuate 170 Kashmiri students and jobless persons from Muscat.
“In an earnest request to Dr Jai Shanker, I strongly pleaded him that he should immediately, repatriate a group of 170 persons, now stranded at Muscat (Oman). I explained in detail to Jai Shanker that these 170 people happened to be from Kashmir and this group includes women and children, ” Soz claimed.
The veteran Congress leader further pleaded that this group stranded at Muscat is facing great difficulties as majority of them have been rendered jobless and they are facing great hardships. He requested to give priority to this matter and repatriate the stranded group as early as possible.
