SAMBA, May18: Continuing its drive against the drug peddlers, the Samba police today recovered more 10.500 kilogram consignment of poppy straw (Bhukki) from an arrested drug smuggler, making a total of 18.800 kilogram.
The recovery was made on the disclosure by the accused driver namely Darshan Singh S/o Sukhdev Singh R/o Ghagar, Sarai-Shambhu, Patiala (Punjab) who had been earlier arrested in case FIR number 45/2020, registered at Police Station Ghagwal. Another consignment of 10.500 kilograms was recovered today from the tyre tube of the intercepted vehicle (Canter), bearing registration number PB65AU-0634. Investigation into the case is still going on.
