Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 33 cattle rescued, 4 arrested

JAMMU, May 19: Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 33 bovine animals and arresting 4 smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gharota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma and SP Rural Suram Singh apprehended a person along with 5 bovine animals, which he was trying to smuggle to Valley.
The arrested person has been identified as Younis Ali, son of Abdullah of Dhar Dharochna Tehsil Bhalwal. He also disclosed the identity of 2 absconding accused persons namely Mushtaq, son of Mohammad Hussain and Gogan, son of Raghunath Singh, both residents of Dhar Dharochan Tehsil Bhalwal District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 32/2020 under section 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Gharota and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket and Incharge Police Post Sidhra Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and SP Rural Suram Singh intercepted two trucks bearing registration numbers JK02AE-3657 and JK02AM-7876 near Ban Toll Plaza.
Duting checking, police ream rescued 22 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested two persns, who were identified as Mohammad Yousif, son of Suleman and Abdul Majid, son of Suleman, both residents of District Reasi.
Cases under FIR Numbers 190/2020 and 191/2020 under section 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
However, a team from Sidhra Police Post led by Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq rescued 6 bovine animals from a vehicle bearing registration number JK02CA-8607.
Driver of the vehicle identified as Khalil Ahmed, son of Talab Hussain of Chakwal Tehsil Batote District Ramban has been arrested.
A case under FIR Number 189/2020 under section 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
