BJYM launches blood donation camps

JAMMU, May 21: BJYM J&K led by it’s chief Arundev Singh launched the blood donation campaign across UT to meet the shortage of blood units in blood banks of the hospitals. The first camp was organized today at Sarwal and second at Luthra Academy Talab Tillo by BJYM Jammu West while adhering to the social distancing norms. The donation drive was led by Reetiz Khajuria under the guidance of former MLA, Jammu West, Sat Sharma, district president, Jammu West, Munish Khajuria and blood donation campaign In-charge Rinku Choudhary.
Talking to the reporters after the inauguration of the camp, the BJYM J&K president Arun Dev Singh said, “Due to COVID -19, lockdown has been imposed in the entire country and because of this there is a decline in voluntary blood donation in the UT. In order to accelerate voluntary blood donation in the UT, this noble step has been taken by BJYM J&K to reduce the growing deficit of blood in blood banks across J&K, which will be extremely helpful to the needy patients in the hospitals. BJYM J&K complimented the donors for supporting this initiative and also to the officials and staff of blood bank for providing the relevant help in such short time ”
Arundev Singh further said such drives will continue throughout the UT at district and Mandal levels.
Altogether 50 donors were screened at the camp and out of them 40 donors donated blood in the blood camps organised today.
