JAMMU, May 21: A meeting of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina in which the problems of the people of the area were discussed threadbare.
The meeting said that there are 55 candidates in waiting list of teachers and 28 candidates in waiting list of statistical assistants under PM package. It said that these candidates are at the verge of overage and the Government which has constituted a Committee for identification of class fourth posts in various departments should also consider these candidates in absorbing them in their respective departments on the posts for which they have applied as their future is otherwise bleak.
The meeting made an appeal to Lt. Governor, G C Murmu seeking his immediate intervention in the matter and urged him to come to the rescue of these candidates immediately. The meeting also demanded enhancement of cash relief to the migrants. It demanded deputing of water tankers for supply of portable water in Durga Nagar where the people are facing acute shortage of drinking water and the problem has compounded due to on set of Summer. It made an appeal to PHE Department in this regard.
The meeting expressed concern over denial of ration to migrant employees and pensioners by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department and made an appeal to Advisor incharge of the Department to intervene in the matter and ensure ration to these people on cash payment basis.
