JAMMU, May 24: A woman succumbed to her burn injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, here today.
“Identified as Geeta Devi (54) wife of Inder Singh of Karan Nagar (Jammu), the woman was undergoing treatment for her burn injuries since last evening after she allegedly set self on fire at her residence by pouring kerosene oil on herself,” police sources said.
They said the woman succumbed to her injuries today at about 12:34 P.M and after getting postmortem, her body was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
“In initial investigation, it has come to fore that the woman was mentally disturbed for past over two months,” sources said, adding, further investigation is underway by Panjtirthi police.
