KISHTWAR, May 25: A residential house was damaged in fire in Hormala Kuchal area, falling under the jurisdiction of Chatroo Police Station.
As per police sources, fire broke out in the residential house of Imtiaz Ahmed Khan at Hormala Kuchal area in Chatroo late last night.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and fire fighters along with tenders were pressed in to douse the flames.
The flames were doused after hectic efforts, but till then the house was heavily damaged in the fire.
No injury or casualty has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet.
However, as per eye witnesses due to blast in LPG cylinder, the whole house came under fire resulting in heavy damage to 2nd and 3rd floors of the triple storey building along with house hold items worth lakhs of rupees.
Chatroo Police has taken cognizance in this regard and started investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, Former Minister and Vice President J&K Congress Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has expressed shock and grief over the tragic fire incidents in village Harmulla Kuchal and Bhadwa Bunjwah areas in which two residential houses were completely gutted in devastating fire.
Saroori asked the administration to carry out relief and rehabilitation measures viz ensure proper and timely compensation to the fire victims.
He urged upon the Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu for early setting up of fire service stations at Chatroo, Kahara, Bunjwah, Sarthal, Thakrie, Drabshalla, Mugalmaidan, Warawan and Nagseni areas.
