One killed, 2 injured in road accidents

JAMMU, May 27: One person was killed while two others were injured today in three separate road accidents in city outskirts.
According to a police official, an SRTC Bus this evening hit a two-wheeler bearing registration number JK02BA-8594 near Karwanda (Kot Bhalwal), resulting into on the spot death of the bike rider namely Balwant Singh (35) son of Pritam Singh, resident of Ward number 3 (Ranjan).
Gharota police on getting information of the accident reached the spot and shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for postmortem while a case in this connection was registered and further investigation started.
Meanwhile, a 45-year-old man named Surjeet Singh (45) son of Balvinder Singh of Kunjwani received serious injuries in the collision of an auto and a car at Kunjwani. The injured was shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment where his condition was stated to be critical. Gangyal police had taken cognizance of the matter.
Another mishap occurred at Akhnoor near gas agency where a pedestrian namely Thoru Ram (60) son of Sardari Lal, resident of Ward number 12 (Akhnoor) was hit and seriously injured by an unknown vehicle. The injured man was taken to GMCH Jammu for treatment where his condition was stated to be critical till the last reports came in. Akhnoor police had registered a case in this connection and started investigation.
