Jammu: Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu today administered oath to the newly appointed Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, Sh. B.R. Sharma at the Raj Bhavan.
Sh. Sharma, a retired IAS Officer, has served as the Chairman, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) before the present appointment.
Sh. BVR Subrahmanyam, Chief Secretary; Sh. Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education; Sh. Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department; Sh. Bipul Pathak, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor; Sh. Achal Sethi, Secretary to Government, Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs and senior officers, besides family members of the newly appointed Chairman attended the swearing-in-ceremony.
Representatives of ABVP & J&K Home Guards Welfare Association call on Lt Governor
Jammu, May 28: Representatives of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), J&K and All J&K Home Guards Welfare Association today called on the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan and apprised him of their concerning issues.
Dr. Parminder Singh, President, ABVP, J&K accompanied by Sh. Deepak Gupta, former ABVP Secretary, J&K put forth various youth related issues including abolition of semester system for Under Graduate level; conduct of examination at local level in view of COVID-19 crisis; employment generation through start-ups; new avenues for off-line education; fee related issues of educational institutions etc.
Meanwhile, President, All J&K Home Guards Welfare Association, Kamla Sharma submitted a memorandum of demands pertaining to the extension of benefits to the Home Guards of J&K on the lines of other States/UTs, regularization of services and other related issues of Home Guards of J&K, and sought Lt Governor’s intervention in redressal of their grievances.
The Lt Governor gave a patient hearing to the delegations and assured them to take up all the genuine issues and demands projected by them for examination and redressal.
