KATHUA, May 28: Kathua police today released the pigeon captured by it on May 24 which after flying from neighboring Pakistan had entered India territory in border belt of Mareen Tehsil of Kathua district.
The pigeon was released by Kathua police on the appeal of its owner Habib Ullah from Bagha Sharief in Shaker Garh area of Pakistan who is fond of rearing the pigeons and has kept a herd of pigeons in his house. Habib, who had made appeal though Pak media to Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has sought his intervention in releasing his pigeon saying that he is fond of rearing the pigeons and on the occasion of Eid he had released them out of the cage to fly in the sky.
Maintaining that birds and animals have no boundaries he said one of his pigeons crossed the border and entered the Indian territory where the police caught him.
He said the tag round his leg was not any code but a ring on which his telephone number was written and he has kept this ring around the legs of all his pigeons so that in the event they go missing in Pakistan the people will contact him on the given phone number and they can be located and brought back.
Habib said that in case his pigeon was not returned, he will move towards border and lodge a protest there. But respecting the feelings of the Pak national and showing a human approach towards the country which sends armed desperados to India to foment trouble, Kathua police showing magnanimity and good will gesture released the pigeon in Manyari border area in Mareen tehsil where from it was captured on May 24 after proper verification.
This way Indian Government gave a message to Pakistan that Indian people are large hearted and they respect the sentiments of common people Pakistan as well.
