SAMBA, May 28: In continuation to its drive against the illegal sale of liquor in the district, Samba Police arrested a person and recovered 14 litres of illicit desi liquor from him in the jurisdiction of Police Station(PS) Ghagwal.
A Police team of PS Ghagwal during surprise check point on Rai-Nichla road, intercepted a person who was moving on suspicious ground.
During his checking, a total of 14 litres of desi liquor was found which he was carrying in a plastic gallon.
The accused person identified as Kali Dass, S/o Uttam Chand of Dhaki, Samba has been arrested on spot and contraband item was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 49/2020 U/S 48(A) Excise Act registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
