VIJAYPUR, Apr 9: Demanding tehsil status for Vijaypur and highlighting other demands, Congress activists held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
Led by Congress leader and PCC member Arun Sharma, the protesters were carrying placard and raising slogans in support of their demands, which also included RBA status to Kandi belt, opening of a Degree College in Vijaypur, Fire Service Station etc.
While addressing the protesters, Arun Sharma said that entire Kandi area needs to be accorded the status of RBA owing to various reasons. He termed all the demands of protesters as genuine and warned that if Government does not consider the same, the people would be forced to launch an aggressive mass agitation.
Others who addressed the protest demonstration, included Subedar Bishamber Singh, Capt Bhola Ram, S Daleep Singh, Onkar Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Capt Baldev Raj and Gulshan.
Later, Additional DC Samba visited the protesters who submitted a memorandum of demands to him.
