Bakula Education Campaign in Leh

LEH, Apr 9: Under the ongoing week-long Bakula Rinpochey Education Campaign in all parts of Leh district with the aim of strengthening education system and improvement of education quality, public awareness programmes were conducted at Government Higher Secondary School Nyoma and GHSS Sumoor Nubra.
The Education Campaign  at HSS Nyoma was held  under the chairmanship of Executive Councilor for Tourism Gyurmet Dorjey and in the presence of  Councilor Kyungam Dorjey Mutup, ZEO, Nyoma, representatives of Education Department, Leh, Principal HSS Nyoma, Chairmen VEC, VEC members and teachers of Anlay, Rongo, Kuyul, Mudh, Tsaga, Nidder.
Speaking on the occasion, EC Gyurmet Dorjey said that observation of education campaign is to motivate and mobilize the communities for a quality education with moral values for the younger generation. He said that giving quality education along with morality to children is the key need in this changing time.
Councilor Kyungam Dorjey Mutup while highlighting the declining trend of enrollment in Government  Schools,  said that if this phenomenon continues, there is an apprehension of disappearing all the Government Schools within a short period.
Yesterday under the leadership of Executive Councilor Tourism, Gyurmet Dorjey, the week long Bakula Rinpochey Education Campaign was also launched in educational institutions of Rong-Chhurgyud that include Liktse, Chumathang and Nomadic Residential School Puga.
A big public awareness campaign was also conducted at GHSS Sumoor Nubra today under the leadership of Executive Councilor Health, Dr  Sonam Wangchok, where the Councilor Rigzin Wangdus, ZEO, Nubra, Principal, headmasters, teaching staff and students of  different schools,  officials of ICDS, Panchayat members, members of VECs, parents and villagers attended the function.
