UDHAMPUR, June 5: Continuing its drive against drug peddlers, the police apprehended two drug- peddlers and seized 139 kg 600 grams of poppy straw from their possession near Chenani today.
Reports said Police team from Police Station Chenani, during Naka at Motorshed, on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway stopped one truck bearing registration number PB 11C-0656 for checking. During search of vehicle, 139kg 600grams of poppy straw was recovered . Driver, Surinder Singh, son of Amar Singh of Rajpura, Patiala along with his associate, Ram Singh, son of Dessa Singh of Rajpura, Patiala were arrested.
A case FIR No. 71/2020 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act was registered against them. Further investigation was in progress.
