Hotel Association criticises Govt for disconnecting power supply

KATRA, June 6: Hotel and Restaurant Association, Katra (HRAK) today strongly condemned the Government action for disconnecting power connections of the hotels and restaurants, here.
A meeting was held under the leadership of the Association president, Rakesh Wazir in which chairman Shyam Lal Kesar, vice-president Virender Kesar, former president Shiv Kumar, Nishant Sharma, Amit Rahi, Vivek Sharma, Rohit Dubey and Ashwani Sharma were present.
“All Central agencies including RBI, ESIC and Provident Fund are giving moratorium to people for payment of dues and are extending the dates for depositing dues but the UT Government has directed its officials to disconnect the power connection whose dues are pending for the last three months,” said Wazir in the meeting.
He further said that the various States Governments have waived off fixed charges for three months, while Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Telangana have revised the fixed charges of three months including March, April & May to help small industries and entrepreneurships but our Government has come up with an order to disconnect power connection, that too, at that time when whole business are at standstill due to lockdown.
Kesar asked the Government to withdraw its order which is unjustified, unrealistic and inhuman and waive off electricity charges particularly fixed charges and electricity duty of the lockdown period.
Shiv Kumar Sharma and Virender Kesar urged the Government for rolling back the recent order wherein quarterly token tax is imposed on the vehicles besides registration fees of more than nine percent.
