12 bovines rescued, 3 vehicles seized

RAJOURI, June 6: The police foiled three separate bovine smuggling bids in Rajouri area, rescuing twelve bovine animals from the clutches of smugglers and also seized three vehicles during morning hours today
SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that a team of police from Police Station Rajouri headed by Station House Officer Rajouri Sameer Jillani under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarter Surinder Khadyal signalled to stop a Tata Mobile vehicle No. JK20 3809 at Darhali bridge on Rajouri Thanamandi road.
However, the accused driver parked the vehicle at some distance from naka point and fled from the spot. Five bovines were rescued from the vehicle which were being smuggled.
Similarly, another Tata Mobile vehicle No. JK11A/ 4668 moving on Rajouri -Thanamandi road was signalled to stop at Darhali naka but the driver parked the vehicle at distance and fled from the spot. Four bovines were loaded in it and were rescued by police. .
The said team also arrested a person Mohammad Kabir, son of Muneer Hussain, resident of Behrote Thanamandi who was smuggling three bovines in a Tata Mobile No. JK11A/ 4148 which were rescued and vehicle seized.
