Vodafone’s WoD prog to help Kashmiri handicrafts

JAMMU, Apr 10: Vodafone  India, one of  India’s leading tele-communication service provider recently launched World of Difference  (WoD) programme.
Vodafone’s WoD enables Vodafone employees  to take time out of their  regular jobs  and work for a charity of their choice. As a part of this programme, one of the Vodafone’s employees donated time and skills to Kashur  Dasatkar, an NGO dedicated to the cause of promoting Kashmiri handicrafts and improving the lives of artisans in the State.
During the stint with the NGO a detailed study, was undertaken  on the problems being faced by local artisans and the Kashmir Handicrafts industry, due to the proliferation of cheaper machine made imitations.
Asit Shekhar, Business Head Punjab, HP and J&K Vodafone India said that company’s prime objective is to contribute for the society. Our association with Kashur Dasatkar under WoD programme seeks to enhance the socio-economic landscape of the state, through supporting  Kashmiri artisans.    He disclosed that this programme was going on in 21 countries of the world.
