Cong stages protest against BJP Govt

UDHAMPUR, June 7: Maintaining social distancing, Congress party today staged protest against anti people policies of the BJP and UT Governments for imposing more taxes on general public.
The protest was organised under the leadership of senior Congress leader, Sumeet Magotra. They were chanting slogans against the Modi Govt and displayed posters during the protest.
Addressing media persons, Magotra said that on the direction of Govt of India, the UT Government is going to resume Vaishno Devi Yatra after a long gap due to COVID-19 pandemic and also announced that the 65 percent hike in the fare charges of helicopter services from Katra to Vaishno Devi Bhawan which is unjustified and intolerable.
He termed the Govt decisions as anti people especially against the devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi. “Most of the UTs are exempted from the Toll Plazas and same views are expressed by BJP president, Ravinder Raina but on other side, his Government is going to install more Toll Plazas in Jammu and Kashmir” he added.
Magotra said that the BJP Government is day by day imposing more taxes on general public by increasing fare charges of Helicopter, hike in prices of petrol and diesel while the opposition is silent due to COVID-19 pandemic. “We will launch agitation against the anti Government policies, if it failed to withdraw hike” he warned.
