JAMMU, June 8: All India Backward Classes Federation (AIBCF) today urged the Lieutenant Governor for induction of at-least one member of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) in the premier body of Service Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB), Public Services Commission (PSC) and Police Recruitment Board.
“Due to non-chalant attitude of the previous Governments of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, the OBC people remained deprived of such benefits,” said FC Satia, president of the Federation in a statement issued here.
He further said that, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Govt of India has notified a policy which read as, “Wherever a selection Committee / Board exist or has to be constituted for making recruitment to 10 or more vacancies, in any level of posts or services, it shall be mandatory to have one member belonging to SC/ST, one member belonging to OBC category.” But the previous Governments of erstwhile state of J&K had deliberately neglected this order due to unknown reasons, he added.
