JAMMU, June 9: Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market with the help of the Health Department on Tuesday started COVID-19 sampling at Ware House here.
In a meeting with the Divisional Administration yesterday, Deepak Gupta, Federation General Secretary had requested for expediting sanitization and random COVID sample collections from high footfall markets like Ware House-Nehru Market Jammu.
Today a medical team of Health Department reached the Ware House and took samples of around 50 people including traders, workers and labourers of the wholesale market.
Deepak Gupta informed that the administration had assured the Federation that the camp will continue for another two-three days to cover the all traders and workers in the area.
He informed that a large number of truck drivers and conductors from neighboring States are also visiting the market daily.
“Although these drivers and conductors are not allowed inside the market and every precaution is being taken yet the risk is very high,” Gupta said expressing thankfulness to Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma and Deputy Commissioner, Sushma Chouhan for facilitating the camp.
