JAMMU, June 9: Ashok Kumar, former MLA and spokesperson JKPCC, has urged upon the Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir UT that Rehbar-e-Khel Physical Education Teachers should be regularised on priority basis who are working in Youth Services and Sport Department as they all facing exploitation and not getting their honorarium of Rs 3000 month in proper time.
Pointing out that Supreme Court of India has also advocated equal work for equal pay, Ashok Kumar said that these Rehbar-e-Khel are getting only Rs 3000 month as honorarium for two years and then Rs 4000 month till completion of 7 years and their regularization depending upon their performances and availability of the post. “It is great injustice for young employees who are also future of our country and all having degrees of B.P.Ed , M.P.Ed , M.Phil and Phd,” he added.
Ashok said that parents of these youth, who belongs to low income group, have supported them for obtaining their higher Technical degrees but now they all facing financial crisis due to very low monthly honorarium. “Rehbar-e-Khel teachers have no other better income source in this critical situation of COVID-19 pandemic. They are totally dependent on this monthly honorarium,” he said.
“How Rehber-e-Khel physical teacher will perform their duties best for the physical development of a child when they himself have not been satisfied financially and their mental health will also get disturbed due to uncertainty of their families and because of these facts, Government should give first priority for their regularisation for the betterment of students physical health for better citizen of India,” Ashok said .
