UDHAMPUR, June 9: A youth committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in Sudhmahadev, Chenani, here today.
A police spokesman said that Ratan Chand (28), son of Duni Chand of village Sarar in Tehsil Chenani, consumed some poisonous substance at his residence. The family members noticed him in serious condition and rushed him to Sub District Hospital Chenani where he died during treatment.
Later, the body was handed over to the family members after postmortem and other legal formalities. Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be immediately ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, dead body of an elderly person was found at Tawi river near Jaganoo Morh. The deceased was identified as Kewal Krishan (68), son of Gayan Chand of Jaganoo. Police has registered the case under Section 174 and further investigation is going on.
