UDHAMPUR, June 9: In a major success against narcotic and psychotropic substances, Udhampur Police today seized 128.9 kg poppy straw, which was being smuggled in a truck from Kashmir.
The truck, bearing registration number HP64A- 9425, was intercepted by a Police party of Police Station Udhampur during naka checking at Jakhani. Police seized the poppy straw and arrested driver of the truck, who was identified as Gurvinder Singh, son of Manga Singh of Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
Police also seized the truck and registered a case FIR number 237/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act at PS Udhampur.
