JAMMU, June 10: All J&K Sleeper Bus Coach Owner Association has demanded resumption of of inter-state buses.
Addressing a press conference, Chairman of the Association Amarjeet Singh said that inter state buses service were out of service since the lockdown began in March 2020.
He demanded special relief compensation for the drivers, conductors and cleaners who have remained unemployed since March.
“Finance Minister in the relief package has not included any action plan for the transport industry”, he said.
Singh urged the J&K UT administration to resume the services of inter state transport buses as the centre has already issued guidelines for resuming the same from June 1, 2020.
Among others present were Vice Chairman Sudershan Sharma, President Mangat Ram, Vice President Ravi Sharma, General Secretary Deepak Sharma and other members of the Association.
