One may have adverse remarks about the social media for so many reasons. But from creative point of view, the fact remains that it has given birth to so many writers. The platform provided by different social sites predominantly FACEBOOK, having additional features like making Groups and sharing the creative works not only on own wall but among the Literary Groups also has certainly helped the new entrants to express their hearts in their own form. It’s an encouraging sign that such an approach has helped to increase the readership and has also inspired the writers to take a leap towards print media. About Author
Anu Attri has been writing since childhood. As she belongs to Udhampur that has comparatively less platforms for exposure, she kept on writing just for own collection. It is pertinent to add here that the Internet came up as hope for such talents as it offered them platforms as well as broader reach. Initially Anu was reluctant to post her poems and Ghazals on her wall, but her friends boosted her morale that her works should reach to readers through social platforms. She got inspired and started sharing her works on regular basis. Later on a literary Group named-“Kalamkaar” was also formed by likeminded people and writing became a regular feature. The exposure and admiration that Anu got for poetry posted on Facebook walls, other social sites and literary meets boosted her spirit for writing. Now she started dreaming of having a book to her credit. Hence ‘Palak Bhar Khwab’ was born.
About Book
The book is a collection of Ghazals and free verse poetry. The contents therein reflect the different moods of poetess while experiencing different shades of affection and hate in life. It may be said that she started flying on the wings of words and went on converting her thoughts into poetry with all innovation. Interestingly, Anu has dedicated her book to Seven Colours of Rainbow. But majority of Anu’s works in this book revolve round the pathos and sadness. If other aspects of life had been included, it would have given even more colours to otherwise a good collection.
Honestly speaking, the Ghazals therein in the book deserve appreciation but when it comes to free verse poetry, more effort is required. Despite that the book carries some thought provoking poems. There is no doubt that in her first attempt, she has been successful in registering her presence as a young upcoming poetess.
With her maiden book, Anu has proved that she has the potential to carve a niche for her self in literary circles. The title of book is catchy. The preface written by celebrated Urdu poet Pritpal Singh ‘Betab’ tells a lot about the talent that this young poetess possesses. The cover page is attractive and compliments the title. One should hope that the journey started with this book should continue as readers expect more matured dreams on varied subjects.
