JAMMU, Apr 11: With total mismanagement and chaos prevailing at Jammu Railway Station the computers were put to many hardships as scheduled arrival of trains is delayed from five to six hours daily for last some days.
The passengers coming via Swaraj Express from Jamnagar Gujarat and Malwa Express yesterday had to face a tough time in reaching Winter Capital after their trains were delayed by six hours and it took them seven hours in reaching Jammu from Hiranagar 45 minute duration journey.
As the scheduled arrival of Swaraj Express at Jammu Railway Station is 2-40 pm  and that of Malwa is 3-55 pm respectively, Swaraj reported at Jammu Railway Station at 8-30 pm while Malwa reported at 10 pm last night resulting into a lot of inconvenience to the commuters the maximum number among them were the Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims.
According to official sources the trains were delayed as the railways turned to newly installed automatic system from the manual system at Railway Station resulting into constant delay in arrival of trains.
Not only the arrival of trains was delayed yesterday but practice continues for last many days. Today also the arrival of both Malwa and Swaraj were late by six hours as well. Even the departure of some of the trains was also delayed from here this evening.
The sources said that installation of automatic system is over and still the trains are being delayed. The officials at Railway Inquiry failed to reply the queries of the people regarding the arrival of trains. The relatives of passengers who were traveling in Malwa and Swaraj trains were every time asked by the inquiry men that the trains will report within half an hour which was far from truth.
Even after reaching Jammu six hours late of their scheduled arrival both the trains were stopped over one kilometer before the Railway Station and the commuters had to face a tough time in reaching the station by foot via Railway track carrying their luggage on their shoulders and head. The old passengers and children were most perturbed due to the stopping of the trains over one kilometer before the station.
