SAMBA, June 13: Concerned over underdevelopment in villages, former Minister and Jammu and Kashmir, Apni Party (JKAP), senior leader, Manjit Singh today appealed administration to ensure road connectivity and drinking water facility for the villagers in Salmari Panchayat.
During his visit to village Pekhdi in Panchayat Halka, Salmari of block Vijaypur, Manjit Singh was accompanied by large numbers of locals.
He was appraised by the locals about problems they are facing in view of lack of developmental activities in their villages. Hardly few km away from the Jammu-Pathankot Highway, the senior Manjit Singh said that the village is facing administrative ignorance from the concerned departments.
“The people have demanded construction of culvert so that they can get in their fields. The lanes are in bad condition and drains are not clean. People are facing shortage of drinking water ,” said Manjit Singh after meeting people in Salmari Panchayat.
He appealed the Government especially the local administration to ensure construction of a culvert and drinking water supply to the poor farmers in these villages.
Manjit Singh was accompanied by Sarpanch of Salmari, Sandhur Singh, Bharat Bushan, Subash Jogi, Kishore Singh,Ganesh Kumar Bammi and others.
