JAMMU, June 14: Young Panthers staged a protest today against the Government for its anti-youth policies and demanded revocation of SRO 202.
Showing deep anguish and resentment over the exploitation of educated youth of the J&K UT, activists of Young Panthers carrying banners and placards which read “Revoke SRO 202, we want justice” raised slogans against the Goverment as well as BJP at Gandhi Nagar.
Addressing the media, Partap Singh Jamwal said as per the new recruitment rules, every new appointee shall be entitled to the minimum pay scale along with grade pay (7000-8000) applicable to the post against which he or she is appointed. However, candidate shall be entitled to annual increment and all allowances (HRA, DA, CCA) only after successful completion of five years service on consolidated salary.
Jamwal said that denial of due increment will have a detrimental effect on the service and pension arrears which will lead to pay anomaly in the future. He lambasted the previous PDP-BJP coalition for its anti-youth policy which put the career of lakhs of students in darkness.
While highlighting shortcomings of SRO 202, he said that it is absolutely deception with youth of J&K and its promulgation have depressed newly recruited appointees by getting only basic salary without any allowances, which is insufficient in this sky rolling market. He said under SRO 202, the appointee in first five years shall be entitled to minimum pay scale which is not more than 10, 000.
“Under this policy, appointees get Rs 330 per day which is even less then per day wages of a labourer,” he said and demanded immediate revocation of this discriminatory SRO. Jamwal appealed the LG GC Murmu to take immediate steps to revoke this policy.
