USTA highlights demands of teaching fraternity

JAMMU, June 21: A meeting of the Provincial Committee of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) was held through teleconferencing under the chairmanship of Rajeev Kumar, its president.
The meeting voiced its dissatisfaction with pick and choose transfer policy in Education Department and alleged that the Lecturers and Masters having disability or other medical grounds were transferred and adjusted unsuitably. USTA also took strong exception to not making transfers of other unprivileged Teachers, Masters and Lecturers who are working for the last so many years in far flung areas as well as out of their districts.
USTA demanded regularisation of all incharge Headmasters, Lecturers, ZEOs, Principals and others, debar teachers from all type of non-academic duties including BLO etc, release the salary of Head Teachers for the month of Jan- Feb. 2018 and arrears of 7th Pay Commission including DA arrear in their favour. USTA appealed to the Principal Secretary School Education and Advisor to the Governor to concede the demands at an earliest otherwise teaching community would be compelled to resort agitation in near future.
Those who participated in the meeting, includes Hari Singh, Yunus Rahi, Pardeep Singh, Bashir Ahmed, Kanta Devi, Sirajuddin, Roop Chand, Sunil Thapa, Raj Kumar, Zulifkar, Anju Devi, Ganesh Datt, Balwant Singh, Sandesh Kumar and Angad Singh.
