Tipper operators protest against Toll Plaza

SAMBA, June 21: There was a traffic jam on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway after a dispute occurred over the toll tariff between tipper operators carrying mining material and the employees of Toll Plaza.
Reports said a tipper operator who was carrying the mining material alleged that he has been asked to pay unreasonable toll tariff by the Toll Plaza employees much more than what has been prescribed by NH authorities. This resulted into heated exchanges between Toll Plaza employees and tipper operators. The tipper operators in protest blocked the Highway for over 15 minutes. Later a team led by SDPO Bari Brahmana, Sunil Kesar rushed to the spot and restored the Traffic on NH.
When contacted the SDPO Kesar said that there was a dispute over rate between the tipper and dumper operators and Toll Plaza officials resulting in traffic jam. He said the police has summoned both the Toll plaza representatives and the dumper tipper operators to his office, Bari Brahmana tomorrow to sort out the issue.
