JAMMU, June 21: Kissan leader Subash Dasgotra has demanded repair of Ranbir canal from Muralian Dak Bungalow to Kotli Mian Fateh in RS Pura tehsil where it has been damaged at several places.
In a statement, Dasgotra said the farmers in the rural belt from Muralian to Kotli Mian Fateh are facing shortage of irrigation water due to damage caused to the canal at a number of places.
He said he met Irrigation Department authorities also and briefed them about damage caused to the canal but the issue hasn’t been addressed.
However, he hoped that the authorities will take cognizance of the matter and repair the canal to ensure that the farmers don’t suffer.
