JAMMU, Apr 12: A deputation of all migrant promotee teachers called on Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand who holds the portfolio of Education Ministry and submitted a memorandum to him.
The delegation while turning the attention of the Deputy Chief Minister towards their plight said that they were going through a harrowing period after their displacement form Valley and can’t afford the second displacement at this juncture if on their promotion they are posted in Kashmir valley or Ladakh region.
The delegation while demanding that they be posted in camp schools after the promotion also said that their children are at critical stage of building their career and the absence of their mothers will prove disastrous for them at this juncture of their career.
Moreover to look after the old aged parents is our moral responsibility as they need our support to overcome their aloofness and fragility as prevalence of nuclear family culture especially after the displacement of the community from Valley has enhanced our responsibilities and duties towards family.
While hailing the decision of Education Ministry in adjusting Physical Education promotee teachers in the respective camp schools demanded that on the same pattern they be also adjusted in camp schools. They further said that enmass transfers will leave these schools without teachers thus affecting the career of displaced students.
Meanwhile, Panun Kashmir general secretary has also urged the Government not to dislocate the migrant teachers posted in camp schools on their promotion as this will affect the education infrastructure of these schools. He said the transfer of the newly promoted masters from camp schools to other schools will have a negative impact on the education of displaced students as these masters are well aware of the environment prevalent in camp schools from the inception.
Raina expressed the hope that the Government while making the adjustments of the promotee teachers will keep the interests of students of camp schools into consideration.
