Educational institutions celebrate Baisakhi

JAMMU, Apr 12: Various educational institutions celebrated Baisakhi festival with enthusiasm and zeal.
Baisakhi festival was held in Handa College of Education with zeal and fervour. Director Gurpreet Handa and Principal Seema Mohan were also present. In Haar Shingar competition, Radhvi Singh emerged winner, whereas in makki roti making competition, Taro Devi was declared winner. Lassi making competition was won by Anisha, whereas designing of mehandi title was claimed by Arti Devi. Students of Tiny Tots Higher Secondary School, Sainik colony also participated.
Bhartiya College of Education, Udhampur celebrated Baisakhi with gaiety and enthusiasm. Prof Suram Chand, HoD, Department of Geography, Boys College, Udhampur was the chief guest. Students presented a cultural bonanza which included Dogri dance, skits, poem recitation, fusion dance etc. Earlier, Prof Sukham Chand, Principal presented the welcome address.
Baisakhi was celebrated at GD Goenka Public School with fervour and enthusiasm. On the occasion, students presented various cultural programmes including dance and songs. The students of class III to V were also taken for a visit to the wheat field. Principal Jyoti Asija highlighted the importance of the day.
Delhi Public School organised a special assembly to celebrate Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti. The students presented group song followed by group dance. Brief informative speeches were also delivered by the children highlighting the importance of the Baisakhi festival. Principal Sudershan Sonar motivated the staff to cherish the true spirit of the two occasions.
Baisakhi was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm at MHAC School, Nagbani. Children made the morning assembly colourful with their beautiful dance number, followed by songs. A Speech, informing the students about the importance of Baisakhi, was delivered by Amisha of class VIII-A and Apoorva of X-A and.
May Fair Higher Secondary School, Chand Nagar and Janipur celebrated Baisakhi festival. Chairman VK Basur and Director Abhey Basur highlighted the importance of the day. Children attired in colourful dresses presented cultural programme.
Light House Public School, Chowk Chabutra celebrated Baisakhi with zeal and fervour. Students attired in colourful outfits, presented various cultural programme. Principal Rajan Sharma, threw light on the importance of the day.
Daffodils Care Convent celebrated Baisakhi with great pomp and show. Toddlers attired as sardars and sardarnis, presented gidha and bhangra. Principal Shikha Puri, threw light on the importance of the day.
Apple Kids, Bakshi Nagar celebrated Baisakhi with zeal and enthusiasm. Shabads were sung in the praise of sikh gurus, followed by cultural programme including Punjabi songs and the best of bhangra. Chairperson Gurjeet kour highlighted importance of the day.
