Srinagar, June 22: Family members of a Srinagar man who is pursuing PhD and went missing during trekking last week, today protested and sough administration’s help in tracing their son.
This was the third time that the family protested at the Press Enclave. However, this time it was different with the family members raising slogans like: “We want justice”, “no connection with militancy”.

Hilal Ahmad Dar, a resident of Bemina, Srinagar who was pursuing a doctorate from Kashmir University went missing during a trek to Gangbal-upper reaches of Ganderbal.
“Our son is innocent. He has no militant connection or any other link. We make a fervent appeal to the heads of all security agencies in Kashmir to help trace our son,” uncle of the missing youth said while talking to the media persons.
The family has urged the administration to question the other five youths who were part of the trekking group.
He also said that ‘fake news” was circulated yesterday that he (Hilal) has been killed in an encounter at Zoonimar. “But in actuality there is nothing of this sort,” he said.
Brother of the missing youth said that he has been trying to get the whereabouts of his brother since past many days.
The family also said that if any security agency has picked his brother, they should release him for on humanitarian grounds.
The family said that the LG led administration must direct all the security agencies to trace their son on humanitarian grounds. “We appeal the LGs administration to step up efforts to trace our son, he is an orphan and must be traced; we need to be helped,” they said.
