JAMMU, June 22: Corporator of Ward Number 42 of Jammu Municipal Corporation Vijay Choudhary along with Former Mayor of JMC Manmohan Singh toured Sectors 3 and 5 of Nanak Nagar and started construction work of lanes and drains in presence of residents.
While speaking, Corporator apprised the residents about her detailed plan of action. She said that each and every lane will be repaired and maintained in a phased manner.
Due to shortage of labour because of COVID lockdown, the work is delayed slightly, she said, adding that old pipes in the area will be replaced with new ones soon.
“We are fully prepared for forthcoming monsoon season”, she said adding that desilting work of the nallah in Ward Number 42 and other lanes and drains have been started. The desilting of drains will be completed before the monsoon, she added.
Corporator also inspected the ongoing construction work of lane and drain along with the nallah in Sector 5.
She directed the concerned Contractor and the Engineer to not compromise regarding the quality of work and material used.
She also asked the people to refrain from throwing their household waste on road or drains.
The residents present on the occasion appreciated Sanitary Supervisor Subash Gill for his uninterrupted work service in their area.
