CVPPPL signs contract for E&M works of Kiru Project

JAMMU, June 22: CVPPPL signed contract package amounting to Rs. 552.50 crore for execution of Electro Mechanical Works of Kiru HE Project, with M/s Andritz Hydro Pvt Ltd. India. The contract will include Supply, Erection, Testing & Commissioning of E&M works.
Earlier, contract packages amounting to Rs. 2240.27 crore for Civil Works Package for the construction of Diversion Tunnel, Concrete Gravity Dam, Intake Pressure Shafts, underground Power House and Tale Race Tunnels have already been signed with M/s Patel Engineering Ltd on 15.06.2020 and Contracts for Supply Erection, Testing & Commissioning of Hydro Mechanical Work Packages of this project was signed on June 11, this year with M/s PES Engineers Pvt Ltd. at a value of Rs. 202.10 crore.
The project will be constructed on Chenab River in district Kishtwar and will have 135 mtrs high Concrete Gravity Dam and four 5.7 meter Dia Circular Shaped Pressure Shafts and underground power house. It will generate 2272 MU of electricity in 90% dependable year.
624 MW Kiru Hydro Electric Project is being constructed on river Chenab in Kishtwar district of Jammu region. The Project is being executed by Chenab Valley Power Projects [P] Ltd (CVPPPL), which is a joint venture of NHPC Ltd.(49%) , JKSPDC Ltd.(49%) and Power Trading Corporation Ltd.(2%) It may be recalled that Kiru HE Project will be another mega power project in Kishtwar district after Pakal Dul 1000 MW.
