Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 71 cattle rescued, 4 arrested

JAMMU, June 22: Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 71 cattle and arresting four smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ramban Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Sharma under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Rajinder Singh Chib, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rehman laid a naka and intercepted three vehicles including two trucks bearing registration numbers JK02BP-5686 and JK03D-8085.
During checking, police team rescued 52 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested three cattle smugglers, who were identified as Latief Ahmed, son of Shams Din of Dhalpar Jaganoo Udhampur, Altaf, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Qazigund and Maneer Ahmed, son of Sharief Ahmed of Kokernag Kashmir.
Cases under FIR Numbers 84/2020, 85/2020 and 86/2020 under section 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Kumar Sharma and assisted by ASI Rajinder Kumar and HC Parveen Akhter under the supervision of SDPO East Bikram Kumar and SP South Deepak Digra laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number UP62T-5868.
During checking, police team rescued 19 bovine animals from the truck and arrested the driver, who was identified as Mohammad Parvez, son of Zabar Din of Kailashpur District Saharanpur Uttar Pradesh.
A case under FIR Number 55/2020 under section 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station and investigation initiated.
