Delegation from remote village of Poonch calls on Governor

JAMMU, Apr 12: A delegation from Murrah, a remote village in Bafliaz area of Poonch district, called on N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan here today and presented to him a memorandum of their demands.
The demands presented by the 7-member delegation, led by Mohammad Shahnawaz Choudhary, President, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress, included, provision of admission of children of inhabitants of this remote area in the Army Public Schools within and outside the State, construction of roads to enlarge connectivity, augmenting water and power supply, healthcare, upgradation of tele-communication facilities and taking all the required measures on urgent basis for the rapid economic advancement of the area.
Other demands projected by the delegation included launching on the spot recruitment drives in the State Police, Army and the Central Para-Military Forces for the youth of Poonch and Rajouri districts, construction of airports in Rajouri and Poonch for facilitating air service to these districts and construction of a Sports Stadium at Surankote.
After hearing the delegation, the Governor observed that the issues raised by them would be taken up with the Chief Minister and the Army.
