JAMMU, June 23: Mendhar Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 9 cattle and arresting two smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Mendhar Police Station led by SHO Inspector Manzoor Kohli under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar and SSP Poonch Romesh Angral laid nakas at different locations and intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK12-4356 and JK21D-8111.
During checking, police team rescued 9 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested two persons, who were identified as Sarfraz Hussain, son of Mohammad Hussain of Pathanantheer Tehsil Mendhar and Shahid, son of Nazir Hussain of Gohlad, Tehsil Mendhar.
Cases under FIR Numbers 131/2020 and 132/2020 under relevant sections have been registered at Mendhar Police Station an investigation started.
