Committee to recommend measures for effective investigation of cyber crimes

JAMMU, June 24: To recommend the measures for effective investigation of cyber crimes, the J&K Home Department has constituted a committee, headed by ADGP (CID).
The six-member committee, comprising ADGP (Hqrs), PHQ, IGP Jammu Zone, IGP Kashmir Zone, Director FSL, J&K as the Members and IGP (Crime) J&K as the Convenor, shall delineate the jurisdiction of various wings of Police in regard to investigation of cyber crimes to avoid any overlap of duplication.
The committee shall finalize the criteria and procedure for transfer of cases, devise appropriate procedure for making optimum use of available equipments and analysis tools, assess the requirement for up-gradation of infrastructure/equipments and measures to meet the same with due prioritization thereof, keeping in view the existing schemes/initiatives/directives. It shall also conduct Training Need Analysis (TNA) and prepare plans for capacity building of human resources thereupon.
The committee shall submit its recommendations within a month’s time.
