Murder mystery solved with arrest of accused

REASI, June 24: With the arrest of both the accused, Arnas Police has solved murder mystery of one Muneer Hussain of Dubri Mahore, whose body was thrown into Ans river after his killing.
The arrested accused were identified as Altaf Hussain son of Saki Mohd of Chakalwala and Ramesh Singh of Chakalwala Thanol, also a VDC SPO. They had allegedly killed Muneer Hussain suspecting that he have had helped cousin of Altaf Hussain to elope with someone.
Body of the deceased was found lying at the bank of Ans river on June 22. On getting information in this regard, a Police team, led by SHO Arnas, Insp Rajesh Gautam and SDPO Arnas, Dr Satish Bhardwaj completed all legal formalities and kept the unidentified body in district hospital Reasi mortuary for identification and other legal formalities. Photos of the deceased were circulated on social media to know his whereabouts.
Next morning, SDPO Arnas received a call from one Siraj Din, Ex-sarpanch from Dubri who informed that the deceased was Muneer Hussain son of Qadir Bakash of Dubri Mahore. He further said that the deceased was being chased by some persons from Chakalwala, Thanole near Ganjote Mahore.
Police immediately swung into action and arrested the accused persons in the very mid night. On questioning, the detained persons disclosed that cousin of one of them had eloped with someone few days back from Chakalwala and they suspected that Muneer Hussain had helped her in this. They chased their victim and threw him from a steep mountain. Later they went down the hill and on finding that the victim was still alive, the duo dragged him to the river bank near Ganjote, Mahore and crushed his head with stone. They also washed all the blood there and later threw the body in Ans river.
The murder case was solved with the arrest of all accused by Police Station Arnas and the whole operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Arnas.
