JAMMU, June 24: Former legislator and senior leader of J&K Apni Party (JKAP), Vijay Bakaya said today that the party will fight for the restoration of self-respect which was taken away in the shape of statehood from the people of J&K.
Bakaya said that making J&K a Union Territory from a historic state has led to lowering of self-esteem among the masses. JKAP will continue to fight for the restoration of statehood and will always remind the Union Government that they had promised on the floor of the Parliament about that statehood to be restored to J&K, he asserted while addressing a party function at Jammu.
Former Minister Manjit Singh said that as there is a political vacuum in J&K, JKAP has emerged as a ray of hope for the people especially youth. Singh said that the party will fight for the rights of the youth and their main focus will also be on treating both the regions equally without any discrimination.
Senior party leader Vikram Malhotra said, “We will unitedly fight for the restoration of Dogra state of J&K which now has been converted into Union Territory downgrading it from the glorious history. He said that JKAP has given rise to the new hopes in J&K due to which a large numbers of youth approach and listen to the party’s policies.”
On the occasion, over two dozen youth from different political parties including Bharatiya Janta Party, National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party and Congress Party on Wednesday joined JKAP.
Former Minister Mohammed Dilawar Mir, former legislator Yawar Ahmed Mir, Namrata Sharma, Madan Chalotra (OBC leader), Bodh Raj Bhagat (SC leader), Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Amandeep Singh and others where over two dozen youth joined J&K Apni Party were present on the occasion.
Welcoming the new entrants into party fold, Former legislator Mohammed Dilawar Mir highlighted policies of the JKAP and future plans on how to work among the masses and strengthen the party cadre.
