Rice basmati prices up on stockists buying

NEW DELHI, Apr 13:  Prices of rice basmati ended higher on the wholesale grains market today on fresh buying by stockists to meet increased demand from exporters against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
Marketmen said increased buying by stockists and exporters against limited arrivals from producing belts mainly pushed up rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety edged up to Rs 7,900-8,000 and Rs 7,600-8,300 against last close of Rs 7,800-7,900 and Rs 7,300-7,900 per quintal respectively. Non-basmati rice permal raw, wand and IR-8 were close higher at Rs 2,275-2,575, Rs 2,475-2,575 and Rs 1,850-1,900 from previous levels of Rs 2,250-2,300, Rs 2,450-2,550 and Rs 1,800-1,850 per quintal respectively on retailers demand.

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,000-2,200, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,440-1,445, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,445-1,450, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 210, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 210, Roller flour mill 800-820 (50 kg), Maida 850-880 (50 kg) and Sooji 960-990 (50kg).
