JAMMU, June 26: A protest by Muthi -Paloura Mandal BJP and local residents was held against the PHE Department which is responsible for the water scarcity in the Lower Roop Nagar Sector 1 area near Chandi Mata Mandir falling in Ward No 66.
The protest was led by BJP Ward president, Suresh Khajuria, Mandal Secretary, Sumangupta, Mandal co-social media secretary, Aradhya Malhotra, Mandal Executive Member, Mankeshwar Singh and other members of locality also participated in it.
They alleged that 10years before, the PHE Department build a tube well but till now there is no water supply. In this tube well, approx Rs 30- 35 lakh were spent but the people of the locality don’t get even 30 liters of pure water, they alleged.
Suresh Khajuria said that he also talked with higher authorities of PHE Department in this regard but no action was taken by them to solve the problem. The protestors urged the Department to settle the problem immediately failing which they will intensify the agitation.
