JAMMU, June 30: The J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu today paid homage to late B S Slathia, Senior Advocate and former President of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu.
In this connection, a `Sharadanjali Samaroh’ was organized in the premises of J&K High Court at Jammu, which was attended by Chief Justice Gita Mittal along with companion Judges, namely Justice Rajesh Bindal, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul, Justice Puneet Gupta, Judges from the subordinate judiciary, namely Sanjeev Gupta, Principal District & session Judge Jammu and other Judges of Subordinate judiciary. Registrar General Jawad Ahmed along with his staff, Advocate general D C Raina along with the Law Officers and staff of AG office and ASGI Vishal Sharma also paid homage to the departed soul.
Many Advocates, including former president of BAJ, D K Khajuria, Advocate D S Saini, Advocate S Surinder Singh, Senior Advocates P N Raina, Raj Kumar Gupta, Surinder Kour also paid their respectful homage to late Slathia.
The atmosphere became very emotional when the daughters of late Slathia joined the `Sharadanjali Samaroh’. All the persons present on the occasion, shared their condolence with the daughters namely Kaife Slathia Chib, Advocate Meenakshi Slathia and Kunal Chib (son-in-law).
All present on the occasion, with one voice, appreciated the contributions of late Slathia and his affection towards the legal fraternity, particularly members of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu.
The learned Judges also remembered the zeal and conviction with which late Slathia use to put forth his arguments before the court.
Advocate Abhinav Sharma, president of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, threw light on the contributions of B S Slathia. He also appreciated late Slathia’s commitment to the cause, clarity in thoughts and consistency in actions, which made him to become President of the Bar Association three times.
Abhishek Wazir, general secretary of the Bar Association, concluded the proceedings of Sharadanjali Samaroh, which was organized by the Bar Association office bearers, namely Rohit Bhagat, Pardeep Majotra, Sushant Samnotra and others.
